A small walled herb garden, detached from the house, with
planting plan. The gate design reflects the fact that the house was once a
fishermans cottage.
The
path meandering across this long, thin garden disguises the length by dividing
the plot. The slight slope allows for the double-level pond with the stones
creating a weir between the two.
A low timber barn being converted into a house suggested the
use of timber sleepers to contain the different levels of the sloping site.
The rectangular shape of the dwelling is reflected in the design.
